A Cherokee Village Man Allegedly Admits To Two Homicides & A Third Attempted Homicide

The Sharp County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas State Police, Cherokee Village Police Department and the Highland Police Department are currently investigating two separate suspected homicides that occurred over the weekend in Cherokee Village and one attempted homicide which occurred in Highland according to a press release from the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department released earlier this morning.

During the course of the investigation, a suspect, Charles Paul Stovall, 24, of Cherokee Village was arrested and interviewed by Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts and Chief Deputy Aaron Presser.

During the interview, Stovall confessed to the homicides and to injuring the third victim. Stovall was transported to the Sharp County Jail where he is being held waiting the filing of formal charges.

The two deceased victims have been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy and cause of death analysis.

The third victim is in an area hospital being treated for injuries sustained during the attack.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released at a later time.
