A 14-year-old Ava girls was killed in an accident north of Dora on Christmas Eve. The highway patrol says the girls was killed when the vehicle she was in skidded off the road and hit a tree. The driver of the vehicle 20-year-old Madison Croney of Ava suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Cox South hospital in Springfield. The accident happened on highway 181 about three miles north of Dora.
