
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced yesterday that a dog breeder in Oregon County has been found in contempt of a court order. Marlisa McAlmond from Cedar Ridge Australians allegedly had 21 dogs euthanized between the date the court order was established on September 8th and September 22nd the date she was supposed to surrender those dogs to the state. Under the order McAlmond is required to spend 30 days in jail, 28 of which are suspended upon completion of 200 hours community service. She is also required to designate three dogs to retain and surrender the remaining 17 dogs to the state humane society. The criminal case against her is still pending.
