During the month of December, the Howell County 911 answered 2,270 calls for service with 80 percent of the calls being made from cell phones. 2,018 calls were for emergency service, including 1,033 call for law enforcement, 708 for medical and 273 for fire, rescue and first responders.
For the year Howell County 911 answered 27,651 calls for service, with 70 percent coming from cell phones. 23,065 were for emergency services, including 17,611 for law enforcement, 7,173 for medical and 2,973 for fire rescue and first responders.
