
Veteran caregivers enrolled in the V-A’s caregiver program will likely be able to receive COVID-19 vaccinations through their local V-A medical center, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs. It’s estimated there are more than five-point-five million veteran caregivers nationwide. The V-A currently is prioritizing vaccine doses to veterans living in long-term care facilities and for its health-care workers, but Executive in Charge of the Veterans Health Administration Dr. Richard Stone says the V-A has opened its doors to civilians since the start of the pandemic.
