An Independence County man drowned in Greers Ferry Lake Monday. According to reports 55-year-old Robert Beel had allegedly been in the water working on a boat but was unable to get back to the surface after going back in the water a second time. Family members tried to rescue him but were unsuccessful. The drowning happened around 3:45 Monday afternoon.
