A fire burned several apartments in Hoxie Monday morning. Fire Departments from Hoxie Walnut Ridge, Clover Bend, Alicia, Sedgewick, Portia and Black Rock all assisted in fighting the fire. There are no reports of any injuries and no word at this time as to how the fire started. The fire was at the Rose Garden Apartments and started just before 3 am Monday morning.
Also, ECNN get a report of a controlled burn Monday afternoon east of Thayer on 142. The burn was about 5 miles east of Thayer near the Rosehill Flats. Again, it was a controlled burn.
