
At the Monday West Plains City Council meeting, City Council approved the hiring of Sam Anselm of Wildwood, MO, to be hired as the next City Administrator. Anselm will begin the job on April 19. Current City Administrator Tom Stehn will retire April 30. Councilman Josh Cotter abstained from the vote.
The West Plains City Council also unanimously approved to release Todd Harman, Finance Director, from employment with the City of West Plains, effective Tuesday.
The City council approved several ordinances and resolutions, including resolution 1132 which is an agreement between the city and MSU-West Plains for use of the Civic Center. Resolution 1133 is an agreement between the city and the Chamber of Commerce for promoting economic growth, resolution 1134 is an agreement between the city and the Downtown revitalization for economic development and resolution 1135, which city Administrator Tom Stehn tells us about
The Council also heard updates from Fire Chief Daniel Clark and from Public Works Director Jeff Hanshaw.
