Names Have Now Been Released In Shooting Incident At Snappy Mart In Koshkonong

The identities of the victims in the shooting Saturday in Koshkonong have now been released. According to the probable cause statement released by the Oregon County Prosecuting attorney’s office at around 5 am Jessica Babcock an employee at Snappy Mart contacted the Oregon County Sheriff’s Office to report a shooting. She said a subject had been shot in the face. When the deputy arrived, he found Paul Chavis lying on the ground outside his vehicle with a gunshot wound. The deputy then entered the store and saw Carlos Moreno leaning against the wall with a gunshot wound to the head. Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene, he then found Melissa Rae Blaskiewicz with a gunshot wound and Jonah Bivens with a gunshot wound. The deputy then drug them from the business before re-entering the building to search for the suspect. Jonah Biven told the deputy it was Chris Lindley that shot him. Video was obtained from the store’s surveillance cameras. Lindley was later arrested and taken to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. 28-year-old Christopher Lindley of Thayer is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action. He was arraigned earlier this afternoon in Dent County, where he is now being held in the Dent County jail.
