A man from Ava was injured in an accident in Christian County Sunday afternoon. 35-year-old Ben Merrit suffered serious injuries when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway and overturned. Merrit was flown to Cox South in Springfield. The highway patrol also reports he is charged with DWI, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and no insurance and no seatbelt. The accident happened on Rt T about 2 miles southeast of Oldfield.
