Charges have now been filed against an Ava man who was subject of a statewide Amber alert Friday. 53-year-old Chad Emmerson is charged with first degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and first degree endangering the welfare of a child. Emmerson allegedly assaulted hos wife and fired a shot inside a garage then took his son and left. The child was returned safely through a third party and Emmerson surrendered to police on Monday.
