Friday Mike Topliff was sworn in as Mayor Of west Plains. Topliff replaces Mayor Jack Pahlman who retired on Friday. Topliff has served the city as Mayor Pro-Tem the last eight years. Mayor Topliff said his first priority was to appoint someone to fill his seat on the council. The City council will choose from 5 candidates who have applied for the position at their Monday meeting. Those filing for the position are Ron Grennan, Paul Bradshaw, John Neisen, Roy Sims, and Donald McClellan.
