A man from Ava has been arrested on a probation and parole violation. 32-year-old Christopher Hicks was arrested earlier this week after the sheriff’s department received a call of a disturbance on East Highway 14. Hicks was taken to the Douglas County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
