Four people were killed in a three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Independence County. The Arkansas State Police reports that 58-year-old Kathy Smith of Batesville, 76-year-old Brenda Horn and 77-year-old Donna Crabtree both from Sulphur Rock and 78-year-old Judy Knox of Halls Tennessee were all killed when the vehicle driven by Smith crossed the centerline and hit the vehicle that Horn was driving head-on. A third vehicle tried to avoid the crash but hit the vehicle that Horn was driving. No one in the third vehicle was injured. The accident happened on State Highway 69 in Rural Independence County.
