Several area fire departments in northern Arkansas have received new equipment through a program from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture. The equipment is lightweight wildfire-resistant coveralls and gloves, hand rakes, leaf blowers, and backpack water pumps. The 96 suppression kits will go to fire departments in Evening Shade, Franklin, Hoxie, Imboden, Melbourne, Oxford, Poughkeepsie, Ruthie Mountain, Sedgewick, Sidney, and Water Valley.
