Feral hogs are threatening land in both Arkansas and Missouri and agents are now asking for your help.

While the feral hogs cause agony and tear up the ground they travel, they also carry diseases that can be spread to livestock.

While it is legal in both states to kill the animals on private land, Missouri and Arkansas made it illegal to kill the feral hogs on public land owned by the state.

The pigs are expected to make nearly 1 billion dollars in damages in each state every year.

If you’re interested in where you come in, the Missouri Department of Conservation is working with private landowners to set traps and kill the entire pack, instead of one or two.

In 2020, more than 12,000 hogs were removed by MDC alone.

Now MDC asks the public, don’t SHOOT the feral hogs, and report them by contacting your local conservation agent.
