Now to an update in the ECNN investigation on the potential lawsuit against the City of Mammoth Spring.

We told you this week about Redi-Mix threatening to file a lawsuit against the City of Mammoth Spring.

We had multiple sources that were close to the situation tell us the issue involved the City of Mammoth Spring, a contractor, and Redi-Mix involving work on the new basketball court at the city park in Mammoth Spring.

ECNN requested multiple documents through an FOIA request.

Those documents reveal that a lawyer that represents the city of Mammoth Spring sent a letter to Redi-Mix of Thayer stating that quote the city contracted with Terry Hammett of Quality Concrete for work on a basketball court and paid him $15,000, it is my understanding that Mr. Hammett subcontracted you [Redi-Mix] to provide materials for the project. Therefore, Mr. Hammett would be responsible for the outstanding invoice you have forwarded to the city. End quote.

In another document obtained by us, the initial bid showed that the total cost for materials would total $19,300.

Another document that was sent to Mr. Hammett said the city had been attempting to reach him regarding the completion of the work at the city park, and that the city was facing a narrow time frame with the grant it received and they needed the concrete work finished in order to move forward.

There are still many questions to answer, but we’re still working to receive comments from all sides of the stories.

We’ll keep you updated with the latest in this ECNN investigation.
