Three police officers were injured, two hospitalized and a Black Rock man was arrested after an incident Monday morning on Highway 367 at the intersection of Highway 63. According to reports 26-year-old Matthew Dale Hatley entered a patrol car and begin hitting the officer with a pipe, Hatley got control of the officer’s weapon and fire a shot but did not hit the officer, assistance arrived and Hatley continued to resist and he was then disarmed but injured two more officers. All the officer’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Hoxie Police and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office have requested the Arkansas State Police investigate the incident.
