A man from Gainesville serving time in the Missouri Department of Corrections walked away from a work detail Tuesday in Sedalia. 44-year-old Jason Laird escaped while working at the state fairgrounds. Laird was serving a seven-year sentence on 15 charges, including burglary, stealing firearms, and stealing a motor vehicle. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray pants, and black boots. He also attempted to escape in Ozark County last year.
