2 residents from Ripley County were seriously injured in a boating accident when the boat they were in crashed into a stump.
According to MSHP, the incident happened 6 miles south of Doniphan on the current river.
The accident happened when a boat failed to negotiate a curve in the river when it ran into a tree stump, causing the boat to crash.
According to the report, 2 passengers, 39-year-old Monique Conn of Doniphan and 44-year-old Diana Johnson of Walnut Grove were thrown from the watercraft resulting in their injuries.
Johnson was flown to a St. Louis University hospital while Conn was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
