Missouri Congressman Jason Smith sent out a press release saying he is concerned that a government shutdown is coming.
Congressman Smith says that congress has 18 legislative days left before the end of the fiscal year ends, which is in September.
The Republican Congressman notes there have been no federal budgets passed, no appropriation bills have been voted on, and that is cause for belief that “we are barreling full steam ahead toward a government shutdown”.
The last full government shutdown was in 2018 when it ran from December of 2018 – January of 2019.
