
A Fulton County resident is facing charges after being shot and being involved in a shootout with his son on Christmas Eve.
52-year-old Richard Garcia Sr. is being charged with aggravated assault and 5 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Garcia’s bond is set at $100,000.
According to police, authorities received reports of a man that was at the Fulton County Hospital being treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
An investigation involving the Arkansas State Police and Fulton County Sheriff’s Office showed that Garcia assaulted his son with a handgun and shot in the direction of his son’s home.
The son grabbed a handgun and began firing at his father, hitting him several times.
Investigators say that Garcia’s son was using self-defense to protect him and others. He will NOT face charges.
