Texas County Memorial Hospital updates COVID-19 protocol

The Texas County Memorial Hospital announced changes to its visitor policy that will take effect Monday as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the state.

The hospital says all visitors will be screened for the virus on arrival, visitors must be 14 years old or older, patients and visitors must wear a mask at all times in the facility with exception to those who cannot wear masks, each patient may only have one visitor at a time, but actively dying patients may have 4 visitors per day.

The visitors must stay in the patient’s room and re-entry will not be allowed once they leave the hospital.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services released a COVID-19 hotspot advisory for certain counties across Missouri, Texas County was among the 8 listed.

The county reported 100 active cases last week when the report was issued.
