A man being tried for murder has received a change of venue to one of our listening area counties.
According to court documents, Quake Lewellyn will be tried in Lawrence County for the murder of Sydney Sutherland of Newport, AR.
Lewellyn is facing charges of kidnapping and abuse of a corpse.
The arrest of Lewellyn occurred in August of 2020.
Police say Sutherland was jogging near her home when Lewellyn hit her with his vehicle, went and asked if she was okay, noticed she was non-responsive, assumed she was dead, put her on his tailgate, and buried her in a nearby field.
He will be in court on October 4.
