Don’t forget Ozarks Healthcare will be hosting a blood drive today.
The drive is going on from noon until 6 p.m., at the Willard Hunter Classroom in the Ozarks Healthcare Parkway Center at 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains. The CBCO is in critical need of blood donations, which has been an ongoing concern since mid-June. The shortage is due to cancellations of blood drives during the ongoing surge of COVID-19, an increase in demand for blood from hospitals across the Ozarks, and people being hesitant to donate.
According to the CBCO’s donation guidelines, you may still donate if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19. If you have had COVID-19, you should wait two weeks to donate after receiving a positive test to help prevent the spread of the virus.
