A Pontiac, Michigan man, 41-year-old ADAM T. SHORT, died as a result of an incident on Lake Norfork Saturday evening.
Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Bradley was on park patrol at approximately 5:45 PM and was flagged down by citizens at Cranfield Park saying there was a water emergency. Deputy Bradley saw a man lying on his back with bystanders performing CPR on him. Deputy Bradley took over CPR compressions until EMS personnel from Baxter Regional Medical Center arrived.
Witnesses indicated that ADAM SHORT had been trying to swim across the lake and began having difficulty. He was brought to the shore by others, and CPR was initiated as he was not breathing. The victim was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center but he did not survive the incident.
The Baxter County Coroner’s Office took possession of the body, which is being sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
