A man from Izard County is facing potential felony charges after he allegedly shot at a land surveyor.
According to court documents, 41-year-old Hans Ivan Oss is now facing a felony charge.
While conducting a survey in a new area, the surveyor heard what he described as a loud bang, then yelled out “hey” to anyone around the area when he received the reply of Hans Oss saying “I am walking towards you”, when the surveyor asked what the loud noise was, Oss replied, “I shot at you”.
The owner of the surveying company later called Oss and recorded the call.
He asked if Oss had shot at his employee and confirmed it, and it was a grave error in judgment.
After that recording was turned over to investigators, Oss met with them and admitted to firing at the surveyor.
He is now facing a felony charge of aggravated assault in Izard County.
