Body found by firefighters in Sharp County now being investigated by SCSO

In a press release from the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, it stated that on August 30, 2021, at 1am, the Cave City Fire Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of Jackson Springs Road, outside of Cave City, for a fully involved mobile home fire.

While fighting the fire, firefighters located an unidentified deceased male subject inside the residence.

The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office was then notified of the discovery.

Sheriff Mark Counts, Chief Deputy Aaron Presser, and Det. Cody Bailey responded to the scene and is currently investigating the incident.

The body of the deceased was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and identification.

The Sheriff’s Office said they would release more details when information becomes available.
