The search continues for a missing Texas kayaker that went missing Saturday evening on White River.
According to a press release, authorities were notified around 1:10pm from a caller on River Valley Trail saying that a man had gone under in the White River and had not come back to the surface.
Once personnel arrived on the scene, they were told the man was kayaking with others when he tipped over in the river, began struggling, and went under the water.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office helicopter was launched and searched from the air for several hours.
The man who is missing is 29 years old and from Beaumont, TX.
All generators that were operating at the Bull Shoals Dam were shut down after the incident and will take time for the water level to go down.
After checking with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office this morning, the search was still ongoing and the kayaker had not been found.
