The Izard County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of another scam targeting citizens and claiming they are with the IRS.
The calls are being placed with local numbers and state there is a problem with their taxes.
They provide their name and a federal identification, which might make it sound real, but it is still a scam.
The caller then asks for personal information from the person they called.
The Sheriff’s Office advises that you should NEVER give any of your personal information away on the phone.
