The Salem Police Department is reporting a drug arrest that occurred on Tuesday according to court documents.
A probable cause affidavit states that Patrolman Phillip Taylor with SPD came in contact with 40-year-old Brenda Dockins in response to a disturbance.
Taylor investigated the disturbance and found that Dockins and her husband had been arguing most of the day and she was leaving for the night.
Patrolman Taylor then observed Dockins to be erratic and under the influence of a controlled substance.
Taylor also found out that Dockins was on probation and had a search waiver on file.
After being asked if she had anything illegal on her, she handed Patrolman Taylor a black bag containing two plastic baggies, each with a crystalline substance and one syringe.
Dockins was placed under arrest without incident.
The 16th Drug Task Force tested the crystalline substance which produced a positive result for methamphetamine.
Dockins is now facing charges for felony possession of a controlled substance – meth cocaine.
Her bond was set at $2000.
