West Plains School District to change masking policy

zizzers-2

The West Plains School District announced they would be changing the masking requirements while inside the school.

The school board met on Tuesday evening and decided that it is highly encouraged to wear a mask, but it is not required.

High school teachers and students will continue to wear masks as they were before the meeting.

During last night’s meeting, it was stated that students entering a building that they are not housed in, will be required to wear a mask, for example, an elementary student entering the middle school.

Superintendent Lori Wilson has stressed in multiple speaking opportunities that the school does not take a stance on the efficacy of masks, but does believe that masking will help keep students in school due to quarantine rules.
