Crash kills two in Independence County

An accident in Independence County involving a child daycare van killed two people, including a juvenile on Thursday.

According to fatal crash summaries from the Arkansas State Police, a 2016 GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on US Highway 167 driven by 20-year-old Cody Conboy crossed into the southbound lanes, striking a 2019 Chevrolet EXP on the left front area of the vehicle with the left front of the Sierra. 

The driver of the daycare van, and a minor, whose age is unknown, were killed in the crash, while another minor, and driver of the Sierra were reported to have injuries on the scene. 

The injured were taken to the White River Medical Center and Children’s Hospital for treatment of their injuries. 

A post was made by STARS Academy, claiming that one of their Medicaid transport vans was involved in the accident.
