
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a drug arrest from Thursday, and charges were filed on Friday.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Jordan came in contact with 47-year-old Virgil Mitchell at a traffic stop in the county.
Mitchell was a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped for crossing the center line multiple times.
During the altercation with Mitchell, Deputy Jordan found he was on probation in the county’s circuit court.
When he was asked if he was concealing anything illegal on him when he told the deputy he was concealing a syringe.
After searching the passenger side of the vehicle, one plastic baggie containing a crystalline substance was located.
At a later date, the substance was tested by the 16th Drug task Force, which produced a positive result for methamphetamine.
The baggie contained less than two grams of methamphetamine.
Mitchell is now facing charges for felony possession of a controlled substance, meth cocaine.
His bond was set at $2,000.
