
On Wednesday, Missouri Secretary of State John Ashcroft visited the Thayer Elementary school to speak to students about his duty as Secretary of State, and how to be good citizens.
Ashcroft was re-elected to the office in 2020, and his current term will be up in 2025.
The Secretary of State is familiar with the area, making it a point to visit every county in the state every year.
He tells us, it’s good to come back.
We also spoke to Thayer R-II School Superintendant Tonya Woods, and she said it was an honor to have Secretary of State Ashcroft come to speak to the students.
Students were given a state seal and a certificate talking about how to be a good citizen.
