The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Mammoth Spring Police Department are reporting the arrest of a woman for breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance.

Charges were filed on Friday for the event that occurred on Oct. 1.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy Blair Ables conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Amber Williams for defective equipment, as the low beams were not working.

Williams did admit that there was an issue with the vehicle’s wiring, causing the low beams to not work.

During the stop, Deputy Ables received consent to search the vehicle, and during the search, a bottle of Bupherine prescribed to another person was found, and two orange tablets that appeared to be Alprazolam.

Williams claimed that the pills belonged to a friend who had ridden in her vehicle the night before.

She was then released from the scene, pending an ongoing investigation.

Deputy Ables contacted the owner of the pills who then advised that he had not been with Williams and believed that the medication had been stolen from his deceased mothers’ house in Mammoth Spring where he stored his belongings.

Ables then contacted Mammoth Spring Police Officer Jamie Turnbough after learning that the pills were stolen from the home in city limits.

The victim had been out of town working in hurricane relief in the gulf and had just recently returned to the area.

The victim also said that Williams was his next-door neighbor.

Williams is now facing charges for felony breaking or entering, felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Her bond was set at $1,000.
