West Plains man arrested on DWI, assault charges, causes crash

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting the arrest of a Howell County man from Saturday.

According to arrest records, 53-year-old Randy Roberts of West Plains was arrested on a felony driving while intoxicated charge, driving while revoked, felony 2nd-degree assault, and driving in the wrong direction on a divided highway, into two or more roadways resulting in a traffic crash. 

Crash reports state that the 2022 Toyota 4Runner driven by Roberts was traveling on US 60 & 63 and was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane, and the other vehicle in the crash, a 2020 Jeep Rangler, was traveling eastbound. 

The front of the 4Runner driven by Roberts struck the Wrangler, causing the crash. 

Multiple injuries were reported from the crash. 

The driver of the Wrangler, 19-year-old Alyssa Fulmer of Plato, MO, had serious injuries and was taken by AirEvac to Cox South in Springfield. 

A 17-year-old Juvenile of Plato, MO, who had serious injuries, was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare, then transferred by AirEvac to Cox South in Springfield. 

20-year-old passenger Jack Morrison of Lynchburg, MO, was taken to Cox South in Springfield by private vehicle. 

Finally, 53-year-old Roberts and a 17-year-old juvenile passenger from the other vehicle were taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.
