

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office reports a drug arrest from Wednesday.
According to a press release, Deputy Foster with the Sheriff’s Office conducted a routine traffic stop on Highway 63 in the county for failure to display a registration light.
As a result of the stop, the driver was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant out of Phelps County.
The suspect was later transported to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, where the suspect was booked on her warrant. During the booking process, a search of the suspect resulted in discovering fifty-three (53) black capsules containing suspected fentanyl/heroin. The capsules were seized and placed into evidence at the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. Before being placed in evidence, one capsule with residue was field-tested with a NARTEC tester and showed a positive indication for the presence of fentanyl/heroin resulting in formal charges of possession.
