The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on an aggravated assault charge on November 12.
Court documents show that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a victim claiming that 39-year-old Peter Belau had attacked her.
The victim stated that Belau was mad at her because she fed her children instead of the dogs.
She said that she grabbed a knife when he came at her, and he told her to put the knife down.
The victim then told Belau to get out, and when she set the knife down, he tackled her and started beating her.
She stated that Belau put his knee on her neck and would choke her with his hands so she could not breathe.
The victim then grabbed the knife again, and Belau jerked it out of her hand and cut her right thumb. She stated that she thought he was going to kill her.
Both children inside the residence say they heard them fighting, and their mother started screaming but did not see the fight.
One of the children says that she was hiding in the closet during the fight.
Belau was placed into custody at the scene.
He now faces a charge of aggravated assault, which is a Class D Felony.
His bond was set at $10,000, and Bail Bond Financing posted his bond on November 12.
