American Red Cross, Convoy of Hope dispatched to “ground zero” of tornado damage

The American Red Cross and Convoy of Hope are only two of the many organizations dispatched to Northern Arkansas and Southern Missouri to help those who are beginning to rebuild their lives.

I spoke with Stacy Burks, Executive Director of the Southern Missouri chapter.

She says that their crews are in the heart of the damage.

Burks also said they’re helping those get back on their feed.

I also spoke to Sara Forhetz with the Springfield Convoy of Hope, and she also said that they are working with those who have been affected the most.

I asked what crews were seeing on the ground.

Forhetz also tells us how to donate directly to the ongoing efforts in the multi-state area.

The American Red Cross is also asking for blood donations due to an already critical shortage, now being used even more to help tornado victims.

Visit redcrossblood.org to find a blood drive near you.
