
The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Cpl Moye Hawkins conducted a traffic stop on Dec. 6.
The car was occupied by 42-year-old Deborah Compton and 41-year-old Jesse Mendes.
Mendes was placed under arrest for DWI and multiple administrative infractions involving his vehicle.
During a search after being placed under arrest, a plastic baggy of white crystalline substance was located on the passenger’s seat.
The substance was within reach of Mendes and Compton.
They are both charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Both were placed in the Sharp County Detention Center on a $4,500 bond.
