The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on Saturday.

According to court documents filed on Monday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Mammoth Spring where a domestic altercation had just taken place.

The victim of the battery had already left the residence but police were told that she had severe cuts and bruising on her face.

The victim was transported to an emergency room to be checked out in the region.

Deputies were able to identify 22-year-old David Rutledge as the suspect.

It was also revealed that the victim was David’s sister.

David stated that the victim was drinking and acting crazy at his house and began to beat a guitar against the fireplace.

She then began trying to get physical with David and ended up on the floor.

David was intoxicated and became “blacked out” and very angry.

He then punched the victim a few times in the face while she was on the floor.

The victim was picked up from the residence by her mother, and David was arrested and was transported to jail.

After deputies arrived at the jail, they were notified that the victim had a 10mm brain bleed and was being transported by ambulance to a Jonesboro hospital.

She was released on Sunday evening from the hospital after the bleeding had paused on its own without surgery.

David is charged with felony second-degree domestic battery.

His bond was set at $2,000 and was later posted by the Triple R Bail Bonds service of Ash Flat.
