Every day, it feels like there is a new scam going around.
ECNN is warning you of a person messaging Facebook accounts, telling you that a child’s mother had not paid child support and is “needing some help.”
The message we received from a listener in particular states that the parent has three children in diapers, has a limited amount of diapers left, and does not get paid until next week.
That’s when they grab you, asking for your money account information, whether that be account numbers, PayPal, Cashapp, or any other exchange service.
Do not fall for this; it is a scam.
Not only should you delete this message and block the sender, but it might also be a good idea to update your social media password.
If you feel that you have been scammed, you are urged to alert your banking provider and contact your state’s Attorney General.
