
MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (ECNN) – The State of Arkansas set a new record in daily COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
The Arkansas Department of Health reports 10,974 new cases.
While the Omicron variant seems to be less lethal than the other two strains, 14 more Arkansans died on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, we told you of the Arkansas National Guard sending a group to the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
President Ron Peterson tells us that there is such a shortage of nurses, hospitals in the region are allowing nurses who test positive for COVID-19 but are asymptomatic to return to work as soon as possible, but that isn’t the case for BRHS.
Chief Operating Officer David Fox also tells us of a shortage of monoclonal antibodies statewide.
