BATESVILLE, AR (ECNN) – Officials have released more information regarding the bomb threat at the White River Medical Center in late December.
Court documents that were filed late last week reveal that authorities were called to WRMC for a report of a bomb threat after a caller stated they would “come up there and blow up the place.”
Both hospital security and the Batesville Police Department locked down the hospital, allowing no one in or out.
32-year-old Krystal Searcy was identified as a suspect and was later arrested.
Investigators searched Searcy’s phone and matched a call to the hospital, time-stamped at the same time the threat was made.
When she was asked about placing the call, she stated that someone had borrowed her phone but later admitted to the police that she had placed the call.
Searcy was already on probation and was taken into custody without incident.
She faces a charge for first-degree terroristic threatening.
Her bond was set at $20,000.
