SALEM, AR (ECNN) – The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative is warning its members of a new scam going around concerning electric bills.
According to a social media post, an automated message tells members that they could qualify for a discount because they haven’t paid their electric bill on time in the past three months; all you need to do is hit one to hear the details.
NAEC is warning members that this is a scam and not to fall for it.
When something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.
You should never share your personal or payment information with those who call you.
If you ever doubt that you are speaking with an NAEC employee, hang up and call their main customer care line at 870-895-3221.
