Senate’s late night debate leads no-where in Missouri Congressional Redistricting

Wednesday, the Missouri Senate had a long night negotiating a bill establishing new congressional districts for the upcoming election.

Republican Senators are divided on the issue.

State Senator Rowden expressed interest in a map that would likely maintain a 6-2 Republican majority, but Senator Bob Onder is leading the fight for a 7-1 map, which would add a Republican seat.

While Republicans are debating ways of redistricting, Democratic Sen. Brian Williams said he believes in fair maps.

The Senate did not decide after the long conversations on Wednesday, but a vote is expected in the next month.
