Sharp County authorities arrested a man on drug charges.
According to court documents, Officers Beau McBride and Austin Rose arrived at a residence on Deleware Drive in Cherokee Village regarding a possible domestic violence situation.
Upon arrival, officers were told the suspect was in a shed behind the residence.
Officers went to the shed and ordered 32-year-old Anthony Mansfield to come outside, and when he did, Officers detained Mansfield while they investigated.
During the investigation, it was made clear the altercation was verbal, however, Mansfield stated the couple was out of drugs and tensions were high.
He also stated there were drugs inside the shed that was legal in Missouri but illegal in Arkansas.
With both subjects involved having a search waiver on file, Officers entered the shed and located 78 grams of Kratom, a scheduled one drug in Arkansas.
After finding the drugs, Mansfield was read his rights and admitted to purchasing the pharmaceuticals in Missouri and bringing them to Arkansas. He was placed under arrest and was taken to the Sharp County Detention Center.
His bond was set at $5,000, and will be back in court on Feb. 16.
