A former Sharp County resident was taken into custody in Cherokee County, OK, after confessing to the murder of three individuals, and two were residents of Sharp County.
Sharp County Sheriff Mark Counts received a call on Jan. 28 from a family member of Quinley Lamb, a woman who had been reported as missing, saying her body was found on a property near Eldon Hill, OK.
Counts then informed the Cherokee County Sheriff of a body that had been found.
The department then contacted the missing woman’s sibling, who had found the body.
Authorities were notified that the suspected killer, 61-year-old Robert Lewis was at the Cherokee Nation Casino and wanted to turn himself in.
Police obtained a search warrant for the property the bodies were found on and located two other shallow graves.
The victims’ names were released on Monday, and the victim’s relatives were notified.
Lewis later admitted to investigators that he killed 43-year-old Quinley lamb, 51-year-old Brian Shackelford, and 36-year-old DeAnna Tippey.
Evidence suggests that Lamb was fatally wounded and sustained a fractured skull, Shackleford had knife marks on his throat, and Tippey was strangled.
Lewis faces charges for three counts of first-degree murder at the Cherokee County Detention Center.
