The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.

Court documents filed within the county on Tuesday show that on Feb. 4, Deputy Blair Ables received a call from new Police Chief Jamie Turnbough to assist with a traffic stop he was on with a male, identified as 49-year-old Danny McAdams.

Turnbough had stopped McAdams for crossing left of center while traveling on Highway 63.

Once Ables arrived, McAdams was sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle he was driving.

He stated that he had not taken anything, and nothing illegal was in the vehicle.

McAdams did disclose that he was carrying a pistol on his hip.

Police were authorized to search the vehicle, and when McAdams was exiting the vehicle, Ables detected the odor of marijuana coming from the car.

After the search, a used needle hidden under a taped-up hole in the corner of the driver’s seat was located.

After ables discovered the needle, another needle was found on McAdams.

He stated he had used meth earlier in the day and was on his way to his residence, where he had multiple items of paraphernalia and approximately half a gram of meth.

Police traveled to his house and located the remaining controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

At a later date, the substance was tested, which produced a positive result for methamphetamine.

McAdams is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bond was set at $5,000.
